Who controls what the agent does

You stay in control: no irreversible action goes out without a person’s approval. It is a design rule, not an option.

Complaints agent · approval requested

Reply to a customer’s complaint

Prepared by the agent, to be reviewed before sending.

Waiting for your approvalSent after your approval

Example: the agent prepares, a person approves, then the action goes out.
The principle01

You stay in control: who decides what

Three ways of working with an agent. The mode of each action is written down before go-live, and you approve it.

  1. Example: the minutes of a meeting

    It acts alone

On what is reversible and low-stakes.

  2. Example: the reply to a complaint

    It prepares, you approve

A person reviews and approves, before the action goes out.

  3. Example: a payment

    It prepares, you decide

The agent gathers and prepares; the decision and the action remain human.

What cannot be undone is never left to an agent alone.

This rule is built into the design of every project; it is not a setting that could be forgotten. Every risk is identified, made visible and kept within bounds, before go-live.

Safeguards02

What we never leave an agent to do alone

  • Pay

A payment or a transfer: the agent prepares, a person executes.

    a person decides
  • Sign

The agent can prepare and compare; it does not commit the company.

    a person decides
  • Set a price

The agent assembles and calculates; the price is still approved by a person.

    a person decides
  • Publish without review

On a social network or a website, a public mistake costs more than the time saved.

    a person decides
  • Handle a sensitive dispute alone

A delicate complaint or a situation of distress calls for a person.

    a person decides
  • Settle a strategic decision

An advisory agent prepares and challenges; it does not decide for you.

    a person decides

Some uses are also prohibited or tightly regulated by law, even with human approval. What the European AI regulation says

Deliverables03

What comes with every agent

Included in every project: neither an option nor an extra.

  • A log of what it does

What it has handled, where each item stands, the errors reported, the useful alerts and the indicators agreed with you.

  • A trail of its decisions

To understand why it acted as it did, kept for the agreed periods.

  • Access limited to what is necessary

Changeable and revocable at any time. You approve the people, the roles and the access levels.

  • Reference documentation

Who has access to what, where the data flows, who approves what, and how to take back control in case of error.

Checks04

Check, then monitor

  1. Before go-liveCheck that it answers correctlyon your real cases — 15 to 30 cases for a Process Agent
  2. From the design stageHand overwhen the agent does not know, it says so, and passes it on to the right person
  3. At go-liveGet starteda session for your teams: what to entrust to it, what not to entrust to it, what to do if it gets it wrong
  4. Then, over timeMonitorwith Monitoring: fixes, adaptation to your tools, value report

The value report compares what has been handled with the agreed indicators. Gaps are visible, and the decision to continue, correct or stop remains yours.

Ownership05

You remain the owner

What is handed over to you

  • The code, the instructions given to the AI and the connections to your tools: what we write for you belongs to you. Only third-party tool licences remain with their vendors.
  • The choices of AI models, providers and technologies, documented, justified and open to review.

Ground rules, in writing

  • Indicators not met at final approval: the last instalment is not invoiced, and we complete the work — up to two days, at our expense.
  • Infeasibility found at the end of an audit: we stop, and you keep the file you have paid for.
  • Agreed access or information not provided: the project is paused until it arrives.
